Today, I’m overjoyed to share something close to my heart that I have been meaning to share for a while: the release of Weaving Our Way Beyond Patriarchy, a new book from Womancraft Publishing that I’m honored to be a part of.
This book, lovingly curated by Lucy H. Pearce, marks Womancraft Publishing’s 10-year anniversary. With contributions from over 80 contributors – poets, artists, doulas, teachers, activists, witches, healers and more – it explores what it means to move beyond patriarchy. Through poetry, letters, art, and shared wisdom, it weaves together stories of healing, community, and transformation.
A Personal Milestone
Contributing two poems to this book feels deeply meaningful for me. It’s not just about becoming a published writer for the first time – it is about trusting my voice, sharing my truth, and being part of a collective journey toward healing and transformation.
For much of my life, I was afraid to speak up. I worried about judgement, harshness, and navigating spaces that didn’t feel safe. Finding my way to this moment has been a slow, tender process of learning to trust myself, cultivating self-support, and practicing sharing my voice in spaces where I felt seen and valued. This journey mirrors the kind of healing I often witness in the work I do with others: the slow unwinding of old patterns, the courage to step into new ways of being, and the powerful ripple effects that unfold when we trust the wisdom of our bodies and our truths.
A Collective Healing Journey
Weaving Our Way Beyond Patriarchy is more than a book; it is an invitation. The voices gathered within its pages speak to our shared longing for healing and connection, our visions of community, and the deep changes many of us feel called to make in our lives. Through the metaphor of weaving, it explores what it might look like to move beyond the systems and stories that have kept us stuck for so long.
For me, the act of writing and contributing to this book felt like a form of somatic healing – connecting to my body, listening deeply, and allowing myself to process and express what needed to come through. It is a reminder of how healing work is never just individual; it is something we do together, weaving new possibilities with every word, gesture, and act of care.
A Resource for Reflection and Growth
This book is a companion for anyone navigating the complexities of trauma, burnout, or feeling stuck. It offers tools, stories, rituals, and practices shared by a diverse range of contributors – activists, artists, teachers, and healers. It is a resource for reflecting on what’s next, finding your footing, and connecting with the deep wisdom that lives within and around you.
Whether you’re dreaming of a world rooted in justice and care, seeking healing for yourself or your lineage, or simply looking for inspiration to keep going, Weaving Our Way Beyond Patriarchy has something to offer.
Why This Matters Now
In times like these, when the world feels heavy and uncertain, we need spaces for healing and connection more than ever. Books like this remind us that our voices, our truths, and our small, quiet steps toward change matter. They show us how we can begin to untangle the threads of generational trauma, manage stress in our everyday lives, and move toward greater embodiment and body connection.
This is the kind of work I believe in – work that roots us in our humanity, helps us navigate the complexities of healing, and gently guides us toward lives that feel more whole.
10 % of the profits from Weaving Our Way Beyond Patriarchy will be donated to organizations like TreeSisters, Women’s Aid, and The Malala Fund, supporting collective care and community healing.
If you are looking for inspiration or simply a space to feel held, I encourage you to explore this beautiful book.
With love and gratitude,
Lise
