The body holds so much wisdom. It holds our memories, our hopes, our dreams, our fears, our blocks, our passions and our creative potential. Learning to listen deeply to your body and letting it guide you in your healing journey and in your life choices can be a very powerful tool for inner peace and personal transformation, and it can support you in leading a healthier and more joyful life. A life where you connect deeply with your inner needs and honour your longings and your pace in life.  

 

What is somatic healing?

Somatic healing is healing that starts in the body. Healing that connects you deeper to all of you and teaches you to navigate, what is going on in your body, when it comes to sensations, energy and emotions. It taps into your body’s memory and everything that your body is holding. 

The approach of somatic healing is “bottom up”, meaning that we work with the body first based on the idea that the healing will spread from there to the rest of you, including your mindset. The opposite approach of “top down” is used in talk therapy that is based on working with the mind first with the assumption that the healing will trickle down to the rest of you from there, including to your body. 

Somatic healing allows you to go deeper in your healing journey and access, what has previously been hidden from your awareness because we approach the process as a gentle conversation with the body. The body has the answers. We listen. The body leads the exploration, and we observe curiously and without judgement. 

Somatic healing is about creating a deeper connection. To yourself, your body, your inner knowing. To your breathing, your grounding, your energy. To your inner peace, your core, your life energy. Give yourself the gift of connecting deeper with yourself and your body 

Why Trauma Healing Matters

Carrying old wounds within us can deeply impact how we show up in this world. If we feel unworthy, scared, broken, or not-deserving it can impact our choices and our path in life. It can make us feel paralyzed, so we take no action at all. Or make us feel stuck in pain and overwhelm for years or decades. It can make us feel lost or disconnected from ourselves and others and leave us numb or living on autopilot.

Getting the right support can shift our experience completely. It can teach us concrete tools, so we learn to slowly heal those inner wounds. It is possible. There is a way. I promise. It can make us feel seen and heard and understood on our healing journey. It can make us feel supported and no longer alone. It is all about connecting with the right people, the right communities, the right healers, the right helpers. Finding where we belong, so we can feel supported and learn to support ourselves fully.

The body remembers everything. So it is a good place to start, when we want to start healing those old inner wounds, so they no longer overwhelm us or keep us stuck in old childhood trauma stories. Healing is a journey. One step at a time. Gently.

Somatic trauma healing is a journey back to yourself. Through layers of stories and emotions that live in the body. A journey back to who you truly are. A gentle journey back to feeling safe, in the world, in your body, in who you are.
